The 1998 Lexus LS: Car subscription
If a car by the month is the plan, the 1998 Lexus LS is worth a look; here is why. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
What the specs mean
The powertrain here is the 4.0L 8-cylinder with rear-wheel drive and a 5-speed automatic. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
The EPA rates it at 12.4 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 37 litres. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $217.
Living with the LS
As a mid-size car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. With 396 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Is it right for your trip?
It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.
Renting it
Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.
Who qualifies
We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. Each car shows its deposit, and we take it about 1 hour before pickup. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.
Requesting a car
You request the car online with your dates, and nothing is charged to send it. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. Approving the offer and paying it confirms the booking.
Open a car to see its photos, rates, deposit and kilometres included. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.
Over to you
