Car subscription and the 2005 Lexus LS
For a car by the month, the 2005 Lexus LS could fit; below, the figures and how booking works. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
Reading the spec sheet
The 4.3L 8-cylinder with rear-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
The EPA rates it at 13.1 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 39 litres. That works out to about $22.93 per 100 km at our price setting.
The LS in everyday use
As a large sedan, it is easy to drive and park in the city. EPA lists 453 litres of luggage space, enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.
Is it right for your trip?
It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.
Can I rent it?
Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Delivery covers the Toronto area, priced by distance in your offer; pickup from us is free.
The steps
A booking with us starts as a request that you send without paying. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. The booking is confirmed when you approve the offer and pay it.
Every car on the site has a page of its own, with its calendar and its rates. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
What to bring
Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. Bring the card in your name that paid for the booking.
For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book. Every driver's licence and identity are checked before we confirm.
