Car subscription and the 2012 Maybach 62
For a car by the month, here is what the 2012 Maybach 62 brings, and how to request one. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
The numbers in plain words
It runs the 5.5L 12-cylinder turbo, with rear-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.
Fuel use is rated 19.3 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 58 litres. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $101.34 at our price setting.
What to expect from the 62
As a large sedan, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. With 425 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes a family's bags for a long weekend.
Who rents the 62
It uses more fuel than most, so it suits shorter trips or people who need its size. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.

What to have ready
Ontario G2 or G licences are accepted, for drivers 18 and older. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.
Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
The booking steps
To book, you request the car for your dates. There is no charge to send it and no obligation. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.
Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.
