Car subscription and the 1998 Mercury Sable
This page joins two things: car subscription, and the 1998 Mercury Sable in plain words. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
Engine and fuel
It runs the 3.0L 6-cylinder, with front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
Expect about 37 litres for every 300 km, going by its 12.4 L/100 km combined rating. That works out to about $19.22 per 100 km at our price setting.
Good uses for the Sable
It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.
Room inside
A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. EPA lists 1,076 litres of luggage space, enough for bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.
Rent it from us
A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.
How booking works
All you send at first is a request with the car and the dates, and it is free. An offer follows, with the car we confirm and the full price for your dates. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.
Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.
Before pickup
Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.
