The 2006 MINI Cooper: Car subscription
If a car by the month is the plan, the 2006 MINI Cooper is worth a look; here is why. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
Under the hood
Under the hood: the 1.6L 4-cylinder and front-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
Plan on about 26 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 8.6 L/100 km. For 1,000 km, budget about $150.50 at our price setting.
Living with the Cooper
Low and compact, it is a car for the drive more than the cargo. The trunk holds 198 litres by the EPA's count: about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.
Best uses
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.
Getting one from us
Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
From your dates to the handover
You choose a car and your dates online and send a request. Sending it costs nothing. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. Nothing is charged until you approve it and pay.
The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. One booking runs up to 365 days, and a longer stay renews with a new agreement. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
What to bring
You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.
Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.
When you know your dates
If something here is unclear, ask in your request; we reply in plain words.
