The 2015 MINI Cooper: Car subscription
If you need a car by the month, the 2015 MINI Cooper is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.
Under the hood
The 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
The combined figure, 7.3 L/100 km, means roughly 22 litres for 300 km. Every 100 km costs about $12.78 in fuel at our price setting.
What the Cooper is like
As a small car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. Its 255 litre trunk is enough for about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.
Best uses
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.
Can I rent it?
Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.
Before pickup
Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. A daily young driver fee applies to drivers under 26, with no maximum age. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.
If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
How a booking comes together
Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. We check the calendar and your details, then send you an offer with the total. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.
Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. Bookings run from one day up to 365 days at a time. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.
Over to you
The next step is yours: send a request whenever you are ready.
