Car subscription: the 2021 Nissan Sentra S

Car subscription and the 2021 Nissan Sentra S: the figures first, then how to rent it from CarmaCars. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.

Java and the Sentra

Java is about 1,639 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Selby, Lowry and Sitka are the closest places to Java on our list.

The figures, translated

The powertrain here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

It is rated 7.1 L/100 km combined: about 21 litres every 300 km. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $11.01, and a 300 km weekend about $33.03.

What the Sentra is like

As a mid-size car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. Luggage space is 396 litres, enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who it is for

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.

How a booking comes together

A booking with us starts as a request that you send without paying. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. You pay when you approve, and only then.

Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. A single booking can run up to 365 days. For longer, it renews month after month. At least 2 hours must separate the request from the pickup.

Rules for renters

Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.
