The 2007 Rolls-Royce Phantom: Car subscription

If a car by the month is the plan, the 2007 Rolls-Royce Phantom is worth a look; here is why. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.

What the figures tell you

The 6.7L 12-cylinder is what moves it, with rear-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 50 litres, from its 16.8 L/100 km rating. In energy, every 100 km costs about $29.40 at our price setting.

Who rents the Phantom

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.

What to expect from the Phantom

As a mid-size car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. Its 396 litres of luggage space fit about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who can rent

Every driver needs an Ontario G2 or G licence and must be 18 or older. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.

How booking works

Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. We confirm the details and send an offer. It lists the rental, any delivery and any add-ons. Say yes to the offer and pay; that is when the booking is made.

Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. At least 2 hours must separate the request from the pickup.
