What the figures tell you

Its 2.5L 4-cylinder drives through an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

By the EPA's combined rating of 8.2 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 25 litres. At our price setting, it costs about $12.71 to drive 100 km.

What the Forester is like

Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

When the Forester makes sense

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Our Forester cars

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

From request to keys

Every booking starts as a request: the car, the dates and where you want it. Nothing is charged to send one. You then get an offer from us with the car, the dates and the total before tax. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

Driver basics

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
