Car subscription and the 1985 Subaru Hatchback
If you need a car by the month, read about the 1985 Subaru Hatchback here, then request it. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement.
Engine and fuel
Under the hood: the 1.6L 4-cylinder and front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.
For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 24 litres, from its 8.1 L/100 km rating. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $125.60.
Best uses
It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.
The Hatchback in everyday use
Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. With 340 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Getting one from us
There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Ask for your dates, and we reply with what we can offer. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
From request to keys
Booking starts online: pick the car, set the times, and send the request at no cost. Our offer spells out the rate, the delivery fee if any, and the deposit. Say yes to the offer and pay; that is when the booking is made.
Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. At least 2 hours must separate the request from the pickup.
Rules for renters
An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.
Three options cover damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your auto policy, a credit card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.
