Reading the spec sheet

The powertrain here is the electric motor with all-wheel drive and a 1-speed automatic. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Its rating is 15.6 kWh/100 km: about 47 kWh for 300 km. Its rated range is 568 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $2.34, and a 300 km weekend about $7.02.

Your booking, in three steps

Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. Our offer spells out the rate, the delivery fee if any, and the deposit. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. For longer stays, each booking of up to 365 days renews with a new agreement. Allow 2 hours or more between your request and the pickup time.

Driver basics

Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.

Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Deposits differ by car. Each car's page shows its amount. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
