Engine and fuel

The electric motor is what moves it, with rear-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

Rated energy use is 14.8 kWh per 100 km. The EPA rates its range at 423 km. Winter cold and fast highway driving cut that down. Expect about $2.22 per 100 km at our price setting.

Booking made plain

Your part at the start is short: choose a car and dates and send a free request. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. Book by the week from 7 days, or by the month up to 365 days. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

Driver basics

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
