Car subscription with this car

Car subscription: the 2002 Volvo V40. Here is the car in plain words, and how renting one from CarmaCars works. One booking runs up to 365 days and renews with a new agreement. There is no long contract: stop at the end of any booking.

What the figures tell you

The powertrain here is the 1.9L 4-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive and a 5-speed automatic. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Expect about 32 litres for every 300 km, going by its 10.7 L/100 km combined rating. A 300 km weekend costs about $56.16 in energy at our price setting.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Space, size and seats

As a wagon, it has the length of a car with a bigger load space at the back. The EPA lists 934 litres for luggage, roughly bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Rent this car

If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.

Booking, step by step

The first step is a free request: which car, which dates, and how you want to get it. Our offer spells out the rate, the delivery fee if any, and the deposit. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

The rules, briefly

Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. Age fees stop at 26: younger drivers pay a daily young driver fee. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.

When the dates are set, a request gets you a real price.
