The 2021 Toyota Corolla LE for buyers

We rent cars and sell one only now and then. There is no 2021 Toyota Corolla LE for sale by us right now. Before you buy the 2021 Toyota Corolla LE, here is what the figures say and what to look at.

    A buyer's checks

A private seller in Ontario must give you a Used Vehicle Information Package. There are 1 NHTSA recall campaigns on file; a dealer can check by the VIN whether each was done. Look at the tires, brakes and battery; they are costly to replace. Owners filed 187 complaints with NHTSA, most often about air bags, engine and unknown or other; have those parts checked.

    Under the hood

Its powertrain is the 2.0L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 20 litres, from its 6.6 L/100 km rating. For 1,000 km, budget about $102.30 at our price setting. At US fuel prices, the EPA estimates US$1,900 a year for 15,000 miles.

    Who it is for

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.

    Space and size

As a compact car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. With 510 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes a family's bags for a long weekend.

    A longer test drive

Renting first costs a fraction of the price of buying the wrong car. If the Corolla is in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car helps you judge. Load it with your things and park it where you park; then decide.

    Choosing the right one

A newer year is not always better; check what changed before paying more for it. Ask the seller which trim it is; badges can be swapped and options vary. If two trims share a powertrain, the difference is equipment, which you can check in person.

    Money matters

A 1,000 km month costs roughly $102.30 at our price setting. Ask what a set of tires costs for this trim; sizes and prices vary. At our price setting, 100 km costs about $10.23 in fuel.

    Renting for Java

CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 1,639 km from Java, and does not deliver there. If you need it in Java itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
