Specs, explained

Its powertrain is the 6.2L 8-cylinder supercharged with four-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

The combined figure, 19.8 L/100 km, means roughly 59 litres for 300 km. That works out to about $34.65 per 100 km at our price setting.

Who rents the 1500

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

What the 1500 is like

It is built for loads that would never fit in a trunk.

Renting the 1500 from CarmaCars

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

The booking steps

Booking starts online: pick the car, set the times, and send the request at no cost. You then get an offer from us with the car, the dates and the total before tax. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. One booking runs up to 365 days, and a longer stay renews with a new agreement. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.

Driver basics

We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Under 26? You can rent, with a daily young driver fee shown on the car's page. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

Before pickup, choose how damage to the car is handled: your auto policy (OPCF 27), your credit card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
