The deposit is never taken when you book; it comes about 1 hour before pickup. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
What happens when you ask for a car
Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.
