Collision replacement car with this car
If a car while yours is off the road is the plan, the 2011 Ford Escape is worth a look; here is why. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental once your adjuster approves it. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly.
What the figures tell you
Its powertrain is the 2.5L 4-cylinder hybrid with front-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
The combined figure, 7.4 L/100 km, means roughly 22 litres for 300 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $34.41 in energy at our price setting.
Who rents the Escape
It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.
Space and size
An SUV body means more headroom and a taller cargo opening than a car of the same length.
Renting the Escape from CarmaCars
Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
What to have ready
We need every driver to be at least 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Young drivers are welcome: a daily fee applies under 26. Bring the card you paid with and your original licence to the handover.
Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.
Getting the car booked
Start with a request. Choose the car, the pickup time and the return time, and send it without paying anything. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.
Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.
Over to you
When the dates are set, a request gets you a real price.
