Renting for Freestone

If you need it in Freestone itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help. Freestone is about 3,665 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area.

Neighbouring areas include Occidental, Bodega and Valley Ford.

Under the hood

The powertrain here is the electric motor with all-wheel drive and a 1-speed automatic. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Its rating is 18.6 kWh/100 km: about 56 kWh for 300 km. Its rated range is 507 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. Every 100 km costs about $2.79 in electricity at our price setting.

Room inside

As a mid-size car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. With 425 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes a family's bags for a long weekend.

When the Model 3 makes sense

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country.

Requesting a car

Booking starts online: pick the car, set the times, and send the request at no cost. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. Approving the offer and paying it confirms the booking.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. A week or more is priced at the weekly rate, from 7 days. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

Renting: the basics

Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. A daily young driver fee applies to drivers under 26, with no maximum age. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.

When you know your dates

Ask for the car, read the offer, approve it if it suits you.
