What the specs mean

It uses the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid and all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Rated at 8.3 L/100 km combined, it needs around 25 litres for a 300 km round trip. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $12.87, and a 300 km weekend about $38.61.

What happens when you ask for a car

You ask for the car you want for the dates you need. The request itself is free. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.

Each car shows its rate for a day, a weekend day, a week and a month. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. Give us 2 hours or more before the pickup and we can usually make it work.

What we check

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. We accept young drivers; those under 26 pay a daily fee. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. Every driver's licence and identity are checked before we confirm.
