What the figures tell you

It uses the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo and all-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Fuel use is rated 11.0 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 33 litres. At our price setting, it costs about $19.25 to drive 100 km.

When the Q7 makes sense

It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country.

Who can rent

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. A daily young driver fee applies to drivers under 26, with no maximum age. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.

Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

Request, offer, keys

Choose a car, set the pickup and return times, and send the request. You pay nothing to ask. We confirm the details and send an offer. It lists the rental, any delivery and any add-ons. The booking is confirmed when you approve the offer and pay it.

Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.
