Specs, explained

The 1.6L 4-cylinder is what moves it, with front-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

The EPA rates it at 7.2 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 22 litres. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $11.16, and a 300 km weekend about $33.48.

The Kicks in everyday use

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. For luggage, 708 litres means bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Good uses for the Kicks

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.

Renting this car

Booking with CarmaCars

You request the car online with your dates, and nothing is charged to send it. You receive an offer with the price, the deposit and what is included. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. A week or more is priced at the weekly rate, from 7 days. Plan for at least 2 hours between sending the request and picking up the car.

The rules, briefly

Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. Young drivers, under 26, can rent too, with a fee for each day. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
