The 2021 Nissan Sentra SR: Courtesy car

Here is the 2021 Nissan Sentra SR, for anyone after a car while yours is off the road. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental once your adjuster approves it. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly.

A note on Java

If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java. Java is about 1,639 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area.

Next door to Java are Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

Engine and fuel

Power comes from the 2.0L 4-cylinder, driving through an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

The EPA rates it at 7.3 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 22 litres. In money, 1,000 km costs about $113.20 at our price setting.

Room inside

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. Luggage space is rated at 396 litres: about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Good uses for the Sentra

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

How it works

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.

What to bring

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. The card you pay with must be yours, and you bring it to the handover.

Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car, you choose one of three options before pickup. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
