Arranging the work for the C7
The 1982 Chevrolet C7 and an emissions test: CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop, and never does the work itself. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Your C7 and the shop
The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Mention the trim and engine in your request; parts differ between them.
Who does what
We pass your request to a trusted shop or give you its name. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop. You agree everything with the shop before work begins.
Driving while yours is at the shop
A rental keeps your week on track during the repair. We deliver the rental to you and collect it when your car is ready. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour.
Car care, briefly
Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.
One more step
One request: the job, the car, and whether you need a rental meanwhile.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
