The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic: Emissions test
CarmaCars does not do mechanical work. For an emissions test on the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, we connect you with a trusted shop. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Your Sonic and the shop
Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. If you have the service history of your Sonic, have it ready for the shop. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Its powertrain is the 1.4L 4-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive.
What to send us
You agree the price with the shop before any work starts. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop.
A car meanwhile
We can have a rental ready the day your car goes in. We collect the rental when your car is back. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours.
Car care, briefly
Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow.
Your move
Send a request: the car, the problem and when suits you.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
