Arranging the work for the Ram
For an emissions test on the 2005 Dodge Ram, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.
Details the shop needs
The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them.
How the arrangement works
The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop. We follow up until the shop has the car booked in.
A car meanwhile
We deliver the rental to you and collect it when your car is ready. Rent for as long as the job takes, by the day or the week. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.
Getting a clear quote
Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.
Car care, briefly
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell.
When you know your dates
Send a request: the car, the problem and when suits you.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
