Emissions test: how we help
CarmaCars does not do this work itself. For an emissions test on the Environmental Rsch and Devp, we arrange it with a trusted shop or connect you with one. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Your car, your notes
A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Mention the trim and engine in your request; parts differ between them.
Who does what
We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop. We pass your request to a trusted shop or give you its name. Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name.
Driving while yours is at the shop
Rent by the day or the week, and stop when your car is back. Add a rental to the same request as the repair. Delivery and pickup are both options across the Toronto area.
Good habits for your car
Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.
What to ask
Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon.
