The 1981 Ford CF8000: Emissions test
Your 1981 Ford CF8000 needs an emissions test? We arrange a trusted shop; CarmaCars does not do the work. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Your CF8000 and the shop
A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the CF8000.
How we help
The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. We follow up until the shop has the car booked in.
A car while yours is in the shop
A rental keeps your week on track during the repair. Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.
Car care, briefly
Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you.
Get an offer
Tell us what is wrong with the car, and we arrange the rest with a trusted shop.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
