Emissions test: how we help
CarmaCars does not do mechanical work, but for an emissions test on the 1990 GMC DS we arrange a trusted shop. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
About your DS
Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the DS.
How the arrangement works
We do not set the shop's price or promise a date. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. Tell us when suits you, and whether the car can be driven.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
A rental from us keeps you moving while the shop has your car. We can have a rental ready the day your car goes in. We hand every car over in person, at your address or at our location.
Good habits for your car
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance.
Before the shop starts
Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected.
Ready to ask?
Start with a short request; a person replies within one business day.
