Arranging the work for the Value Van
Your 1984 GMC Value Van needs an emissions test? We arrange a trusted shop; CarmaCars does not do the work. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.
Details the shop needs
A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the Value Van. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car.
Who does what
We keep you posted until the car is booked in. The shop sets the price and the time after seeing the car. You agree everything with the shop before work begins.
Driving while yours is at the shop
Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. Rent for as long as the job takes, by the day or the week. Your offer shows any delivery fee before you pay.
Small things that help
Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Look at the tire tread before long trips.
Getting a clear quote
Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon.
One more step
Ask us, and we tell you whether we can arrange it.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
