Emissions test: how we help
For an emissions test on the 1986 GMC WHEB, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Your WHEB and the shop
If you have the service history of your WHEB, have it ready for the shop. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car.
How the request works
Send a request with the car and what it needs; a person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. You agree the price with the shop before any work starts. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.
A car while yours is in the shop
We collect the rental when your car is back. If the repair runs long, keep the rental longer. The handover is in person, at your address or at our location.
Between shop visits
Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule.
Talking to the shop
Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected.
Let us know
