Arranging the work for the X-Type
The Jaguar X-Type and an emissions test: CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop, and never does the work itself. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Details the shop needs
Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts.
What CarmaCars does here
The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work. We tell you plainly if we do not know a shop for the job. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.
A car meanwhile
We can have a rental ready the day your car goes in. The rental is priced like any other on our site. The handover is in person, at your address or at our location.
Getting a clear quote
Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate.
Small things that help
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for. Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow.
Send a request
One request: the job, the car, and whether you need a rental meanwhile.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
