The Merkur: Emissions test
For an emissions test on the Merkur, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.
Your car, your notes
Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request.
Our part and the shop's part
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. We pass your request to a trusted shop or give you its name.
A car meanwhile
A rental from us keeps you moving while the shop has your car. Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. The handover is in person, at your address or at our location.
Good habits for your car
Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for.
What to ask
Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for.
Ready when you are
A request is free and gets a reply within one business day.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
