The Polestar: Emissions test
For an emissions test on the Polestar, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and rents you a car while yours is in. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.
Your car, your notes
Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare.
Who does what
We keep you posted until the car is booked in. You approve the shop's quote before any work. We follow up until the shop has the car booked in.
Your rental while you wait
We collect the rental when your car is back. Add a rental to the same request as the repair. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.
What to ask
Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for.
Car care, briefly
Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.
Ready to ask?
Need the work and a rental? One request covers both.
Request emissions test
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
