Arranging the work for the Corolla

CarmaCars does not do mechanical work, but for an emissions test on the 2021 Toyota Corolla XSE we arrange a trusted shop. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

Details the shop needs

The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. The engine is the 2.0L 4-cylinder, with front-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT).

How the request works

The shop quotes the job; you approve it before any work. We pass your request to a trusted shop or give you its name. We tell you plainly if we do not know a shop for the job.

No car? Rent one meanwhile

Keep the rental as long as the repair takes. Keep moving with a rental while the shop has your car, by the day at our usual rates. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.

Between shop visits

Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can.

Getting a clear quote

Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts.

One more step

Tell us the job and the car, and a person replies.

Other trims, places, colours and searches

Request emissions test

Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
