Engine repair: how we help
Your 1982 GMC C5 needs engine work? We arrange a trusted shop; CarmaCars does not do the work. An engine that runs rough, smokes or overheats needs a look soon.
About your C5
Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car.
Our part and the shop's part
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. You approve the shop's quote before any work.
Your rental while you wait
We can have a rental ready the day your car goes in. A rental keeps your week on track during the repair. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.
Getting a clear quote
Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours.
Between shop visits
Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.
Talk to a person
Send a request: the car, the problem and when suits you.
Request engine repair
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
