Small things that help
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt.

Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up.
