The 1997 Mazda MX-5: Engine repair
For engine work on the 1997 Mazda MX-5, CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop and never does the work itself. Engine work ranges from a leak to a rebuild; the shop inspects the car and quotes it.
Before the shop sees your MX-5
The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the MX-5. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop.
Who does what
Send the car's details and what it needs; we take it from there. We keep you posted until the car is booked in. Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
We can have a rental ready the day your car goes in. The rental is priced like any other on our site. Delivery starts at $0 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.
Small things that help
Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt.
Talking to the shop
Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice.
Questions first?
Start with the car, the job and your location.
Request engine repair
