If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it.

Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Look at the tire tread before long trips. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for.
