Your car, your notes

A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare. Tell the shop about any warning light or sound you have noticed. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. Under the hood: the 2.0L 4-cylinder and all-wheel drive.

The steps

We pass your request to a trusted shop or give you its name. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date. Send the car's details and what it needs; we take it from there.

What to ask

Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.

Small things that help

Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter.
