Engine repair: how we help
The VPG and engine work: CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop, and never does the work itself. An engine that runs rough, smokes or overheats needs a look soon.
Your car, your notes
Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them. Say whether the car is drivable; it changes how it gets to the shop. Mention the trim and engine in your request; parts differ between them.
What to send us
We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. You agree everything with the shop before work begins. We can deliver a rental to you while your car is at the shop.
A car while yours is in the shop
Add a rental to the same request as the repair. Rent for as long as the job takes, by the day or the week. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.
Small things that help
Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.
Talking to the shop
If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history.
Talk to a person
Tell us the job and the car, and a person replies.
Request engine repair
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
