What the specs mean

Under the hood: the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid and all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

Plan on about 25 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 8.3 L/100 km. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $12.87, and a 300 km weekend about $38.61.

Room inside

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. Its 340 litres of luggage space fit about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

A good match for

Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

What happens when you ask for a car

A booking with us starts as a request that you send without paying. The offer we send lists the car we confirm and the full price. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. Longer trips cost less a day: the weekly rate starts at 7 days. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.

Requirements

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

Third-party liability is in the rate; for the car, bring OPCF 27, use your card's benefit, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

Ready when you are
