The 2001 Ford Explorer: Executive car service

For a car with a driver, the 2001 Ford Explorer is one of many cars on CarmaCars, each with its own page. Chauffeur bookings are by the hour, two hours minimum; send a request and we reply with the vehicle we can offer and the price.

Under the hood

It runs the 4.0L 6-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

Plan on about 41 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 13.5 L/100 km. Driving 300 km costs roughly $62.79 at our price setting.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits winter trips and weekends with more gear than people.

What to expect from the Explorer

As an SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

Renting the Explorer from CarmaCars

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Your offer shows any delivery fee before you pay.

How renting with us works

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. Only an approved, paid offer books the car.

Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. One booking runs up to 365 days, and a longer stay renews with a new agreement. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.

Requirements

Ontario G2 or G licences are accepted, for drivers 18 and older. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. We need to see the card and the licence of the person renting.

Liability to others is in the rate. Damage to the car is handled by your policy (OPCF 27), your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.
