Renting: the basics

Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
