Executive car service: the 2012 Kia Optima
If you need a car with a driver, read about the 2012 Kia Optima here, then request it. Chauffeur bookings are by the hour, two hours minimum; send a request and we reply with the vehicle we can offer and the price.
Reading the spec sheet
The 2.4L 4-cylinder hybrid with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
Expect about 20 litres for every 300 km, going by its 6.5 L/100 km combined rating. In energy, every 100 km costs about $10.08 at our price setting.
What to expect from the Optima
As a mid-size car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. At 283 litres, the trunk fits about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.
Who it is for
Its low fuel use suits long commutes and high-kilometre weeks. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.
Can I rent it?
If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. We deliver around Toronto; pickup at our location is free.
How a booking comes together
A booking with us starts as a request that you send without paying. The offer comes from a person, not a robot, and it carries the full price. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.
A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
What we check
Our minimum age is 18; an Ontario G2 or G licence is required. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.
Damage to the car is handled one of three ways: OPCF 27 on your policy, a credit card's rental car benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Expect a deposit before every rental; its amount is set by the car. Name every driver in your request, and each is checked before pickup.
