The numbers in plain words

The powertrain to know here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 25 litres, from its 8.3 L/100 km rating. Driving 300 km costs roughly $38.61 at our price setting.

Room inside

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. In plain terms, its 340 litres of luggage space hold about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who the A4 suits

It suits stop-and-go driving and rideshare or delivery work. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.

Booking with CarmaCars

Booking starts online: pick the car, set the times, and send the request at no cost. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. From one day to 365, a single booking covers it. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

The rules, briefly

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Each day of the rental carries a young driver fee if a driver is under 26. Bring the card you paid with and your original licence to the handover.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.
