Its 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo drives through a 6-speed manual. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

Renting: the basics

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. Age fees stop at 26: younger drivers pay a daily young driver fee. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held before each rental; the amount is on the car's page. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.
