Loaner car: the Mazda MX-5
If a car while yours is off the road is the plan, the Mazda MX-5 is worth a look; here is why. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental once your adjuster approves it.
Reading the spec sheet
The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.
Size and space
As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second. It has seats for 2, going by the one in our fleet.
Best uses
It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.
In our fleet
Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. 1 of our cars match this page; each shows its rates and calendar. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.
Renting: the basics
Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.
How renting with us works
Booking starts online: pick the car, set the times, and send the request at no cost. Next comes our offer, with the confirmed car and every charge on one page. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.
Every car has its own daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rate. Longer trips cost less a day: the weekly rate starts at 7 days. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

Loaner car: the Mazda MX-5
Can I rent a Mazda MX-5 in Toronto?
Yes. We have one on the site now, each with its own calendar and price. Choose your dates on the car's page and send a request; nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
