The VPG: Loaner car

For a car while yours is off the road, here is what the VPG brings, and how to request one. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental once your adjuster approves it. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly.

The numbers in plain words

The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.

Is it right for your trip?

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.

Can I rent it?

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. We have no VPG on the site right now. Send a request with the model you want, and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.

Who can rent

We rent to drivers aged 18 and up who hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit amount depends on the car and is shown on its page. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.

Requesting a car

You ask for the car you want for the dates you need. The request itself is free. Next comes our offer, with the confirmed car and every charge on one page. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.
