The figures, translated

Power comes from the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, driving through a 7-speed automatic. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Expect about 25 litres for every 300 km, going by its 8.3 L/100 km combined rating. That works out to about $12.87 per 100 km at our price setting.

The A4 in everyday use

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. EPA lists 340 litres of luggage space, enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

When the A4 makes sense

It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

Rent this car

Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates.

The steps

You request the car online with your dates, and nothing is charged to send it. We answer with a written offer: the car, the dates, the price and the deposit. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

Each listing shows the daily, weekly and monthly rate of that car. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

Rules for renters

Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. Under 26, a young driver fee applies for each day of the rental. Your licence and the card you paid with come with you to the pickup.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. A deposit is held before each rental; the amount is on the car's page. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
