Renting the 2017 BYD e6
Want the 2017 BYD e6 as a rental car? Start here: the car in plain words, then how booking works. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Reading the spec sheet
It is powered by the electric motor, with front-wheel drive. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.
At 29.2 kWh/100 km, a 300 km day uses roughly 88 kWh. On paper it goes 301 km between charges, less in winter. Every 100 km costs about $4.38 in electricity at our price setting.
Good uses for the e6
It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.
How big it is
Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well. EPA lists 453 litres of luggage space, enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.
Renting this car
Put this car and your dates in a request, and we reply with an offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.
Before you rent
We rent to drivers aged 18 and up who hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. The card you pay with must be yours, and you bring it to the handover.
Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
Booking with CarmaCars
First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. We confirm the details and send an offer. It lists the rental, any delivery and any add-ons. Approving the offer and paying it confirms the booking.
Rates are set car by car and shown on each car's page. Rent for a day, a week or up to 365 days in one booking. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.
